The historic buildings at La Cannonerie have presided over their small hill since at least the early 16th Century when Francoise 1ere built a royal hunting here. Subsequently the buildings were used as a cannon foundry before becoming a Cognac Estate after the French Revolution. Today the buildings are centred on our beautiful courtyard incorporating five of our lovely cottages as well as the loggia and wedding barn. Approached by a separate tree lined avenue and outside the courtyard are two further spacious three bedroom houses.
Today all of the cottages have their own modern kitchens and bathrooms and fresh spacious interiors. All guests are welcome to enjoy the peaceful environment of the grounds including our beautiful stone loggia that has a comfortable seating area and WIFI – the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a good book or a glass of wine with friends. The heated swimming pool enjoys views of the surrounding countryside and if you want to explore bikes are available to hire locally with free drop off and collection from La Cannonerie.
